Our Drug & Alcohol Rehab Programs: An Overview

Free Consultations

Some families are at there wits’ end seeking help, while others may only suspect drug abuse in their young person. Either way, it is impossible to develop a plan of action without an accurate picture of the problem. We offer free phone consultations and in-person evaluations for young people, parents, or both. The goal of an evaluation is to make sure that everyone involved is considering all factors that could be affecting the young person’s life. From there, we can discuss and recommend a course of action based on your family’s situation.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Our drug and alcohol rehab programs are unique in the Denver area – we focus directly on the needs of adolescents and their families. Our IOP program is between 6-14 weeks long and focuses on providing young people with the basic tools necessary to successfully navigate early recovery in their hometown environment. All of our discharge decisions are made with the inclusion of the young person, the family, and our counseling staff, and they are based on progress in treatment.

Our intensive outpatient drug and alcohol rehab programs are tailored to meet the needs of young people, rather than trying to adapt an adult drug rehab program for young people. Participation in our IOP program includes full access to our two weekly 12-step meetings for young people, our two weekly sober social activities, weekly one-on-one counseling, and our weekly parent support group meetings.

Individuals who complete our IOP program have the benefit of participating in our 12-week Aftercare program with the same counselors they had in IOP, as well as full access to our recovery support group for young people for up to 2.5 years.

Individual Counseling

Certain situations may indicate the need for individual drug abuse counseling for young people. The Cornerstone Program offers fee based individual counseling for young people and families. We also offer up to 2.5 years of individual counseling free of charge to persons who complete our IOP program. As young people transition back into school, work, or daily life, they are inevitably faced with numerous potential stumbling blocks. Our counseling sessions focus on the social, mental, and emotional issues that young people often face during the recovery process and can help the individual transition into long-term recovery.

Speaking Engagements

One of the most important parts of our substance abuse and mental health education efforts is our emphasis on prevention and community outreach. The talks our counselors give, like our formal drug and alcohol rehab programs, focus on what is important to young people.

We believe that young people are intelligent and capable individuals that can understand the consequences of their actions and appreciate honesty. There is no need to talk down to them, which often only makes problems worse. By incorporating these elements, our counselors routinely provide effective and engaging talks.

We also offer engaging and informative talks to community groups such as parent groups, coalitions, churches, or law enforcement groups with a focus on sharing our insight into teen and young adult drug use, signs of drug use, how to respond to teens with drug problems, and more!
